MSI Launches Limited Edition Star Wars RTX 5080!

MSI’s RTX 50 Series line-up has been steadily growing since launch, but their latest addition might just be the most eye-catching of the lot. The new GeForce RTX 5080 16G The Mandalorian and Grogu Edition OC is an ultra-limited collector’s card built around the upcoming Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Here’s everything you need to know.

Themed graphics cards aren’t exactly a new concept, but MSI has gone further than most with this one. We’re talking Mandalorian-inspired styling on the shroud, a Grogu-shaped GPU holder in the box, and a magnetic backplate with four interchangeable faction plates. It’s about as full-fat a Star Wars treatment as a GPU has ever had, and given the 500 unit cap, it’s not one that’ll be hanging around for long. For those fancying their luck, this ultra-limited edition card is rather handily set to release the same day as the upcoming film, May 22nd, nice and easy to remember. Though I cant help but think that May 4th would have been more fitting, not quite sure why!

The good news? Underneath all the Star Wars trimmings, this is still a proper flagship GPU. It’s MSI’s GAMING TRIO RTX 5080 at heart, with NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture and the full RTX 50 Series feature stack, DLSS 4.5 included. So if you were worried this was style over substance, you can rest easy. The bad news? Well, this thing is limited to 500 units across the entirety of Europe, making this card ultra-limited. There’s no second batch, no restock, once its gone its gone. If you want one, May 22nd is the day to be sat at your keyboard with the MSI E-Shop already loaded.

Moving… swiftly on. Thermals on this GPU are handled by MSI’s TRI FROZR 4 Thermal Design, with STORMFORCE Fans and a nickel-plated copper baseplate doing the heavy lifting. The RGB lighting is the only real concession to the Star Wars styling on the cooling side, and MSI has had the sense to keep it subtle. Specs are as expected and will frankly have no issue crushing game across any of the major resolutions.

The shroud features a brushed metal finish designed to mirror Din Djarin’s iconic Beskar armour, giving it a battle-worn aesthetic that sits a long way from MSI’s usual SUPRIM and GAMING TRIO designs. The standout feature though is of course the backplate. The card ships with four interchangeable plates, the Mandalorian’s helmet, Grogu, the New Republic, and the Imperial Remnants emblem and as if that wasn’t enough, an engraved Grogu and Mandalorian mural.

Possibly the most fun inclusion here is the Grogu-themed VGA support that ships with the card. Functional enough to hold up a triple-fan flagship, while doubling as a display piece for anyone building out a themed setup and oh so cute!

MSI’s GeForce RTX 5080 16G The Mandalorian and Grogu Edition OC will be available across selected European countries from May 22nd 2026, the same day The Mandalorian and Grogu lands in cinemas worldwide. The card will be sold through selected reseller partners and the MSI E-Shop. For UK customers, keep your eyes peeled on SCAN’s website as they will be selling this frankly out of this world collaboration on May 22nd.

If you’ve had your eye on a flagship GPU with proper collector appeal, this might well be the one worth setting an alarm for but be quick! We expect this one to disappear quickly when it goes on sale.
