Cooler Master Elite 130 Review

Is this still the best mini ITX Case?

As you probably know Cooler Master’s Elite 130 has been out a little while now, but it still holds up very well. As far as case’s go it’s small, very small. As far as Mini ITX case’s go however not so much. This slightly bigger size is down to the addition of large GPU support and support for full size ATX power supplies – something I can fully appreciate.

With the availability of Mini ITX boards spanning all the way up to X99 there is the ability to shove up to a Xeon in here, or more realistically an enthusiast Broadwell-E CPU. A general rule of thumb is that a larger cooler on a graphics card is better, theoretically it allows for better overclocking, higher default clock speeds and cooler operation, something this case gladly facilitates. I’d go as far to make the argument that using this case, and using a small GPU is just something you shouldn’t do.There are smaller options out there, notably Cooler Master’s very own Elite 110.
